The brochure of Aperture Masters Photography is a series to help highlight the history of black and white photography. We were given the opportunity to pick any photographer. I chose to pick a mexican women photographer Lola Álvarez Bravo. I wanted to highlight a photographer that is not well known and that portrayed the struggles of being a female mexican photographer.
Knead it! is a company created from the love of baked goods. I worked with a team in order to create a company that matched the current modern times. I wanted the experience of taking the product home to be unique. I did research on the different size of breads for the paper bag design and length in order to come up with a functional and practical template. I did this as well for my cupcake and cake box packaging. The minimalistic of the design of packaging worked well with design system that use for the company.
The goal was to create a personalized poster within a fast paced deadline. Strict guidelines were provided and followed. In depth research allowed for the theme to match the feel of each poster to the artists they are portraying. The typeface and colors were individually chosen to give each poster a feeling that conveyed the essence of the artist.
These post cards was made to showcase an upcoming play that will be playing at California State University, Sacramento. The play chosen was the acclaimed Beetle Juice. This project required the use of a unique material and connecting it to the play. I photographed paper and manipulated the image to capture the feeling of the chosen play. The colors that were picked were those that would bring you back to the main character Beetle Juice. I went with a dark look for the images because it is the feeling you get from Beetle Juice.
An ID system for a fictional company based in Sacramento. It contains a letterhead, business card, envelope, ticket, a take away item and a flyer to the grand opening event. This museum was a group project in which each member created their own logos and ID systems. We chose to create a museum that highlighted the importance of the Sacramento Area River. The river has a rich history and an important ecosystem. I wanted my ID system to reflect nautical feel of a moving boat museum.
Biomix is a fictional company created to disseminate information about compostable packaging. I chose Biomix due to my love for packaging. I wanted to empower each individual to make more ecological minded decisions. It contains a letterhead, business card, envelope, ticket, a take away item and an infographic poster to share the difference between compostable and biodegradable packaging.
The objective of this project was to pick a book we like and have read. I chose The Original Folk and Fairytales by the Brothers Grimm. We had to use elements of the story to share the feeling that it gave. The chosen elements convey the abstract feeling of well known fairytales. The cover was made from elements of the most iconic tales within the book.
